Victorian Headless Portraits
The Victorian era had many photographs, most of which showed the subject sitting or standing with a stern expression. Since photography was still in its infancy, photographers were experimenting with novel ways to create fun photos that differed from the norm. Animals acting human was one popular concept, and then came the headless portrait. Funny, strange and entertaining, a new genre of photography was born.

This is it. The last day. 20 hours left as I type this.
I have raised, so far, barring anyone waiting for the last possible minute, $645 directly through Indiegogo. I also picked up a small $50 portraits job this week, so that helps, and a $650 wedding package which will be paid in cash this upcoming weekend. I also stashed an extra $20 in the savings jar last weekend since I was so sick I didn’t leave the house for five days… thus not needing my gas money for this past week.
Thank you all so much for participating, sharing, contributing, whatever. I still have a little ways to go before I can actually afford the camera, and I will need to keep working on earning enough to repair the original camera… but I think I might actually make it!
I have calculated that I’ve saved/earned/collected a total of $1365, which is SO VERY CLOSE to the $1500 I need to buy the new camera.
One more push for anything extra would definitely help.
I’ll keep the referral contest open until the end of the drive. So you have 20 more hours to get in your reblogs and facebook/twitter posts and be in the running for the Poster, DVDs, and CDs.
Here we go!

There are approximately nine days left in my Indiegogo Campaign for a new camera (or a repaired camera at the very least).
Sadly, there are less than that number of contributors to my campaign.
So, to drum up more support, I have decided to run a contest for the remainder of my campaign time (ends June 28th.)
There are multiple ways to enter!
Firstly [and this is the easiest for me to track] go to my campaign page and share the link via your social media of choice. (I am hoping this works the same with Tumblr… it definitely works with Facebook/Twitter/G+.) Your referrals must visit the campaign page through your link for it to count you as the referring party.
Special for Tumblr!
Since the share widget is so sketchy about Tumblr, I will give you 1 entry for every reblog you provide (multiple blogs with one reblog each counts for multiple entries… provided they actually have followers and were not made for the purpose of entering contests). I do ask that you add some of your own commentary… even if that commentary is something like “This is awesome, check it out.” or even “Eh, I don’t get these pictures but I want free stuff so check it out.”
Lastly, if you get me a significant contribution (I’d say $50 and up) definitely have the person tell me you sent them so that I can count you in for multiple entries! I will give 1 entry for every $10 contributed, if you’d prefer to do it this way.
First place: The person with the most referrals at the end of 6/28/13 will receive ONE new/unopened Firefly DVD set, ONE new/unopened Barenaked Ladies “Hits from Yesterday & The Day Before” CD, and ONE 24” x 36” Disneyland World of Color poster (photo by me).
Second place: The person with the next highest amount of referrals will receive ONE new/unopened Firefly DVD set, and ONE new/unopened Barenaked Ladies: All In Good Time CD.
Let the games begin!
